Here are your friendly Trikings committee for season 2010/11 Officers | | Adam Hunt President / Coach Married to Mardy. I joined the club in late 2006 to start training for the triathlon in the World Police & Fire Games, I enjoyed it so much that I kept at it. I always look forward to the summer season of local and regional triathlons, as well as competing in Half Ironman and Ironman distance events. I am enthusiastic about helping others achieve their triathlon goals through coaching and looking forward to the achievements of all Trikings members for the up-coming season. | | Stuart Mannering
Vice President Married to Erin with two young children Louise and Russell, started doing Triathlons and joined Trikings in late 2007 to help quit a 20 a day habit I had for over 20 years. This year’s goal is to get a finishers medal at Busselton and manage a work, life and training balance. | | Peter Harte Secretary Started participating in Triathlon’s after my son Michael started racing in the Gatti series. I was taking Michael to the events and the training sessions, so I just started joining in. I have competed in the short course events, and raced in a mixed team event with my daughter Nicole. The encouragement and support from all the Trikings members and coaches has helped me achieve more than I have ever expected. I have now completed 2 Olympic distance triathlon’s and found this to be my preferred event. I enjoy seeing all the new members and competitors improve at each training session or race. | | Tod Fullston Treasurer Currently undertaking a PhD in human genetics. When younger I competed in swimming at a national level and was part of the SASI squad. In the past 5 years, I have finished 4 Ironman triathlons, many Olympic distances and countless sprint distance triathlons. | General Committee | | Erica Ames Webmaster Joined the club at the beginning of 2006, this is my third year on the committee. Significant achievements so far include learning to run (!) and completing 2007 & 2009 Ironman Western Australia, and two half IM triathlons. Favourite saying - Swimmers can't run, runners can't swim and cyclists can't do either!" (Hamish Carter) | | Matt Galbreath I joined the Trikings in 2007. I got the bug and have competed in numerous sprint and Olympic distances. One day I will get to complete the holy grail. I can assure you it isn’t from the lack of support. I am married with a 2 ½ year old son and the goal at the moment is to spent as much time with the boy as he grows up and balancing a healthy training schedule. I look forward to catching up with you at a training session or race. | picture coming soon..... | Caroline Martinez
| | Dave Simpson Began training in January 2009 after meeting Mr Mannering, so all of this is his fault! Became a Trikings member shortly after. Some good advice steered me to 3 months of near drowning experiences until I learned how to keep my head under water, breathe, move my arms and kick, in some sort of rhythm! They call it swimming! (Thanks Mrs Hunt). Managed to get through my first season of local racing culminating at Victor Harbour Olympic Distance event in 2010. (Thanks Mr Hunt) My goal is to compete at the Busselton Ironman. Thanks to all for the help & encouragement thus far. | | Jodie Smith I have been involved in Triathlon for around 15yrs. My first Triathlon involved 2 piece bathers and a mountain bike. That was a long time ago. I had no idea what it took to be a triathlete back then, but I still remember it like yesterday. I always remember how nervous I was and how much I didn’t know about Triathlon. That is why I always try and give back a little to the sport that has given me so much. | | Daryl Talbot Joined Trikings in 2006 before doing my 1st half IM at Meninige. Since then have done Geelong half IM twice & IM Australia (Port Mac) in 2008. Have done numerous Olympic & Sprint distance triathlons since 2002. I raced as an age grouper in the South African team at ITU World championships in Cancun, Mexico in 2002. I completed Comrades ultra marathon in 2003, before immigrating to Australia 10 days later. |
