| About Trikings |
The club has come a long way and in 2007-08 celebrated its 21st year, the oldest SA based club. At its inaugural meeting at the Eagle View Hotel (now the Brahma Lodge Hotel) in November 1987 where fees were set at $15 for a full member and names such as the ‘Norseman Triathlon Club’ and ‘Northern Triathletes Club’ were suggested before ‘Trikings’ was then suggested by Tony Day and was passed. Therefore the Trikings Triathlon Club was born. Trikings caters for all abilities. We have had members competing in mini events locally, to the Australian Ironman and even competing in the Hawaii Ironman World Championships. 2006 saw the unveiling of the new club kit, moving from the purple colours of old to the bright and recognisable yellow, orange and burgandy. A new-look website was introduced in 2008. |
